7 Anime to Watch this Winter 2013

We are now two weeks into the winter anime semester of 2013. As I am sure most of you all are have trouble figuring out what to watch in fear of wasting time, we at 8 Bit Drum got you covered! With our 7 Anime to Watch this Winter 2013, compiled of the most note worthy anime to air thus far.
 

7.Cuticle Tantei Inaba

This anime is based around Hiroshi Inaba a private I or detective for hire, what ever you chose to call him he is half man half wolf and obsessed with hair and his long lost brother. He runs his own detective agency with a crossdresser Yuuta and Kei who stands out because he is the only normal person on the show. The plot revolves around Hiroshi and friends trying to catch Don Valentino a goat mob boss with a keen taste for Japanese money.

Additional thoughts- This anime is really lacks in mostly every thing but strives is corny jokes and slapstick comedy. Do not watch expecting any thing else besides a good laugh at how ridiculous this show is. But that is what Cuticle Tantei Inaba is aiming for so if you enjoy that sort of thing this is definitely for you.

6.Tamako Market

Tamako Market is based around the daily life of Tamako The daughter of a mochi maker, after she sneezes into the face of Dera the bird. In Dera's homeland sneezing in some ones face is the signal of attraction. which causes confusion and leads Dera to follow Tamako after all he is on a journey to find a bride.

Additional thoughts- Only one episode has aired as of me writing this so it is really hard to say
whither this anime will be good or bad but it has potential and a great atmosphere looking forward to seeing more.

5.Kotoura-san

Kotoura-san is about Kotoura Haruka who is abandoned by every one she loves and her life thrusted into darkness, due to her ability to read minds. Kotoura who has already given up on having friends or loved ones is rescued by Manabe Yoshihisa really popular boy who is an air head and cant seem to get a clue, but due to this he only thinks exactly what he does and says with a perverted thought here and there.

Additional thoughts- definitely one of the most interesting plots out of the bunch with only one episode out it has already caught my attention. The first episode takes you on a the cruel journey that is her life till meeting Manabe Yoshihisa and is emphasized by every thing being dull until there fated encounter.

4.Minami-ke Tadaima

The model slice of life anime! Minami-ke Tadaima is about the life of three sisters Kana Minami, Chiaki Minami, Haruka Minami and the life of there friends. The show is split up into segments each telling its own story but not abandoning its plot or forgetting about past segments and is clearly its strong point. With each passing segments and scenario you feel like you have learned more about the charters, their personality and their world all while being entertained.

Additional thoughts- As of now there is no dull moment in the show and I highly recommend Minami-ke Tadaima if you enjoy slice of life.

3.OreShura

OreShura  Is about Eita a boy who hates love due to his parents splitting and running off with there lovers. His life is completely turned upside down when the school beauty Masuzu is seated next to him and suddenly wants to date him. Eita tries to turn her down but is quickly held against his will due to his death note diary that she obtained through buying one of Eita's pre-owned text books in which he left it.

Additional thoughts- OreShura has an interesting and dynamic cast that really  makes this classic situation of fake relationships feel new, and is worthy of your time. make sure to give OreShura a watch!



2.Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Next

 Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai Next a sequel to you guessed it Naruto! lol just kidding its the sequel to Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai. It continues the story from the first season, which would have been on my list for that semester if their was a list But all jokes aside the first season was really good and explained the relations between all of the characters new or prior to the Neighbor's Club. The Neighbor's Club is a club that Yozora Mikazuki starts with the help of Kodaka Hasegawa and reluctantly lets Sena Kashiwazaki join. This club is where these three and various other out cast learn to make friends and socialize normally.

 Additional thoughts- If it holds up to the standards set by the previous season and is half as good then it is a must watch. Definitely check out this show.




A Nice Bonus. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo

Not a new anime airing in 2013 but continuing its first season into this year Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo is a great watch. Over shadowed by S.A.O last season Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo is a great light love story. Based around Sorata Kanda a boy moved to the Sakurasou dorms because he cant help but pick up stray cats. He is a average boy who is trying to cope with the beyond average life at Sakurasou dorms where next to every one there is a genius. In turn he is put in charge of Mashiro Shiina or on Shiina duty. Mashiro Shiina is a genius painter from Britain who cant handle every day tasks. She moves to japan to peruse manga creation.

 Additional thoughts- their are fourteen episodes at the moment youll have catching up to do but Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo is a great show and one of my favorites from last season.




1.Maoyuu Maou Yuusha

Maoyuu Maou Yuusha is an anime based around classic JRPG stories like dragon quest with a twist. The twist is what if the hero went all the way to the demon king and they were not evil, let alone not a king but a Queen who wanted peace and has a crush on the hero. That is the plot of Maoyuu Maou Yuusha our hero Yuusha decides to go on a journey to help Maou the demon king who swears her title to only be a formality. She is looking for a way to bring peace between demons and humans, so  she goes to the human world with Yuusha to help cure the hidden poverty that sweeps the human world thats is blamed on the demons by human kings who benefit from war.

 Additional thoughts- The most diverse and interesting out of the bunch frme the art to the story Maoyuu Maou Yuusha is note worth across the board. A must watch still not clear if the show will be a love story or action adventure with love as a side. but none the lees it has earned the number one slot.
