Walker Stalker Con

ZZZZZZOOOOMMMMBBIIIEEESSSSS everywhere, its great! If you love zombies ,cool art and The Walking Dead, Walker Stalker Con is the place to go. Walker Stalker Con is great place to meet your favorite Walking Dead cast members and check out Walking Dead cosplay and load up on swag. A lot of The Walking Dead cast was present such as Jon Berthnal (Shane, who is an awesome guy), Chad L. Coleman (Tyreese) and the beautiful Christina Serratos (Rosita)... all great people if you ask me. Pictures with the cast were quite pricey, but at the end of the day it was worth every penny.

The Con has some interesting panels such as one with two of the Comic Book Men and another with Irone Singleton ( T-Dog). Promotions of cool YouTube Walking Dead songs such as  Carl G - Carl Pappa ( by Bad lipreading)and Talk Dead to me that were made by the Creators of Walker Stalker Con James and Eric. We got a moment to Talk with James who is awesome guy and a great Rick cosplayer. The interview will be up soon but basically we discussed his Podcast which should be checked out on iTunes ( insert podcast name). I enjoyed every second at the con but only had one problem , I wish there was more to do but with growing popularity next year I hope I get my wish. Stay dead people

Also I had the chance to meet the Beautiful Christina Serratos (Rosita).

CAPCOM CUP RESULTS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS AND OPINIONS!

MAD SPOILERS:

EG | MOMOCHI has won. Thank god for that, I personally cannot stand seeing OP Rose and Luffy dominate my favorite players and characters time and time again.

United States fan favorite Snake_Eyez_ got double eliminated real quick. He got outplayed in nearly every round he participated in and looked really nervous and out of element especially given the dominating performances he has given in the last year or two.

My personal favorite Japanese fighters Daigo "The Beast" Umehara and "Bonchan" Masato Takahashi, had decent showings. Daigo dominated EG | JustinWong, which is suprising given his Evo victory, but and fell short in the end to PR Balrog. Bonchan was not impressive in his first match vs Fuudo's Fei Long however Sagat came through in the losers' bracket getting a win. In the end however, Daigo and Bonchan were eliminated. Shame.

Team Evil Genius had a strong showing and accounted for a lot of the contestants including PR Balrog, Ricky Ortiz, Justin Wong and Momochi.PR Balrog had an instant classic match vs. Infiltrations' Akuma but lost do to his not mapping of a three punch button. (which is weird considering the fact that there were TWO button checks). EG Won the tournament with Momochi at the first spot, PR Balrog at 5th, Ricky Ortiz tied 9th, and Justin Wong at dead last. EG is OP.

The french blokes Valmaster and Luffy had a decent showing too. Valmaster lost early ( do to an ecolectic pick of Elena no doubt ) but did very well in Losers'. Luffy dominated the tournament until running in to the wall that was Xian. GO XIAN GO.

In actuallity, the Europeans had a magical showing considering that at one point, most of winners thebracket was European with Luffy, Valmaster and the Prodigal Son Ryan Hart at the helm. Ryan Hart used primarily regular Ryu (with a sprinkle of Evil) and was really impressive for a world where even Daigo and Alex Valle have moved on to better (more evil) Ryus.

I did not speak much on Xian or Infiltration even know they did end up very high in the tournament results because I feel there wasn't much to say. They did their thing and picked very, very good counter picks to their oponents.

ANNOUNCEMENT:

CHARLIE IS IN STREET FIGHTER V!!! Is that even exciting, Guile part two.........oh well. Maybe Street Fighter V will be more story driven...*Snickers*.

Overall, I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see my favorite guys succeed, but oh well. It was a great show and hey Mike Ross. Can't go wrong with Mike Ross.

CAPCOM CUP ANNOUNCEMENTS!

After Capcom unveiled its "Omega Mode" for the first time to the audience featuring players FilipinoChamp, Alex Valle and Hoodaman, Capcom announced that Omega Mode and new player balances for Ultra edition will be released this coming Monday December 15, 2014.

Omega Edition seems to be more of a comical thing, they said multiple times throughout that the mode is unbalanced and for the funsies. Hugo is real real strong now.

As far as re balancing and such goes, I am interested to see how the characters will be affected and who will receive an almighty nerf. From what I can gather from the Twitch chat, people are calling for El Fuerte and Yun to be nerfed. Go figure.

Another "Cool" announcement they made is that along with the free patch, there will be a set of DLC costumes available for purchase. yay.

Capcom also announced Monster Hunter 4 : Ultimate with a Street Fighter II throwback cartoon cinematic thing that was cute but whatever. Monster Hunter 4 : Ultimate will be a 3DS exclusive so if you are a 3DS user like me, get hyped.

That's all for now as far as Updates, I will stay on top of the Cup and make more announcements if they come!.

Best,
Matsura

Retro Review: Tetris (Gameboy)

Simplicity perfected in the form of a Russian Puzzle Game.

Tetris is a simple yet iconic game that is regarded around the world as a classic that every Nintendo fan should enjoy at least once-unfortunately for us Nintendo fans, we have played this game more then once...more then twice..more then 200 times. Why? Well, the first major reason is that Tetris came packed in the box with the Nintendo Gameboy, a console that genesis-ed the mobile game market.

So, games that come packaged with Nintendo Consoles typically are the bees knees (Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt, Wii Sports) but that aside, lets look at the game play.

You stack bricks to create lines. The bricks are made of 4 squares. There are long pieces, there are awkward pieces. Gameplay

Graphics. Bad, but good for the time. Basically every game for the og Gameboy looks pretty sour in comparison to Nintendo's latest handheld. But, for the time (I imagine) the portable game industry was just flowering and honestly, the ability to play the game on the go was enough to carry it. And after, does it matter how good the game looks when you are making lines with bricks.

Music. Music is something I honestly hate writing about because I feel it is the most suggestive thing about any media production. That being said, I love the music. I love the Russian inspired melodies that play during the game and in fact, I think that the music helps make the game play more enjoyable. It adds to the simple game play by giving it a little bit of a sense of theme that this type of game desperately needs.

Final Verdict. This game holds up over time, it is one of the granddaddy's of Puzzle Gaming and is (in my opinion) the least gimmicky of the franchise because the game is a Pure Puzzler. I give this game a 10/10. Modern puzzlers do not transcend to this perfection.

Movie Reel:Starwars Episode VII Trailer

I have been waiting and waiting for this trailer and finally its here. Starwars: Episode VII is coming, just watching this trailer I cant wait for the movie to come out on Dec 18th ,2015. A lot of older cast has been already announced on IMBD such as the solo king Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill). It looks like fighting between the Empire and the rebellion is still at large although  Vader & The Emperor were killed. So cant wait to whats lurking in the dark side of the Force and who is now in control.
Now let us talk about the Millennium Falcon  that looks amazing and still is flow with such amazing skill avoiding being shot down by tie fighters.I have seen a bunch of comments on the black storm troop (John Boyega) and my theory is that in this era storm troopers are no longer clones so whats left of the Empire has to rely on people power. Also, the "CrossGuard Light saber" AWESSSOOOMMEEE idea. I believe since Luke had his hand cut off by Vader, he could have designed it to protect his hand? The light saber may be red but Luke may have took his Fathers (Vader) and tweaked it for homage. Being a big fan of the Star wars Franchise

You cannot tell me that that "CrossGuard Light Saber" is not an upside down cross.- ChelseaFX6

OST Spotlight: NES/GameBoy #1

Welcome to OST Spotlight, the place where we here at 8bitdrum highlight games that reached gaming music excellence. OST Spotlight will feature games popular and obscure wrapped into one locale in the name of great Background Music.
This is the NES/GameBoy feature Part 1!
//The text in this "article" is purely flavour text

Tetris (NES/GameBoy)

Simple Shapes, Simple Gameplay, Simple Colours-Simply Amazing Sounds. This game is known far and wide for being the simple and addictive piece of 8 bit beauty that it is. Everything about this game is as basic as it comes (yes, even more basic then Miley), save the outstanding soundtrack.

Clash at Demonhead (NES)

Whale, I am going to catch AAAALLLL kinds of shit for this one. This game has loops, good loops.. Thats all, loops. In my opinion, amazing loops. Loops that I never get tired of. Loops that some people (lots of people) hate. Loops that I love and that’s why they are a part of this list of great soundtracks.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES)

This legendary arcade port is normally highly ranked for the game play and is never forgotten on lists for best NES Soundtracks. Honestly, who does not love this soundtrack?? That is all, there is nothing more to say.

Bubble Bobble (NES)

Bubble Bobble is one of those arcade-style-classic-pure-fun-can't-be-emulated-no-matter-how-hard- developers-try kind of games. It has some pretty snazzy chip tunes to go along with it.

***OBLIGATORY GAME ALERT***

Pokemon Red/Blue (Gameboy)

10/10 best game. 10/10 Best Music. But in all honestly, Pokemon's game has set a standard of really immersive music that fits every route, boss, and faithful encounter perfectly.

Am I Buzzfeed yet?

Movie Reel: Jurassic World trailer

FINALLY! Another Jurassic Park movie. It has been way too long for this to happen, but Jurassic World will be out in the Summer of 2015. Since Jurassic Park III back in 2001 all I have been craving was more dinosaurs. From watching the trailer, I can tell this movie is going to have a lot of action. What I am looking forward to the most is the people being eaten by this brand new man made dinosaur. I'm thinking Godzilla mixed with a Tyrannosaurus Rex added in a small hint of Spinosaurus. This dinosaur is going to be big, VERY BIG!
Another thing I am looking forward to is what they have planned for the Velociraptor. Last time I saw raptors they were at an understanding with the humans as "give us the eggs and we will not kill you", which of course is not what I thought would actually happen. Those dinosaurs have been getting smarter and smarter every movie from opening doors to setting up traps, so yes I am looking forward to some concoction Steven Spielberg has for those crazy and smart dinosaurs.

First Impressions: Grand Theft Auto Online

Here it is, a first impression look on Grand Theft Auto Online for the next gen systems.
I have to say this is a great remake of the game. Making online a much larger world, there's so much chaos going on you can't even get a break to stick up a store.

When I first heard about first person mode I was like "ahhh man it's about to get real." Playing first person mode in the game I was not very impressed with it. To me it just didn't feel like it matched the game. For so long its been on a fixed camera and I'm just not ready to see this game in first person.

Online gaming has also become both fun, but a drag. There's so much going on in the game they just leave you outside for a good ten minutes looking for a server to put you on. I feel like I'm being put on hold and they forgot they put me on hold. It isn't a good feeling, but the minute you're in that world well you get to release the anger you had by being on hold for so long. Ain't that amazing.

Raising money is also so much easier to do in the game. Doing online missions for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 your payout wouldn't be so great. Now you make at least 12,000 for doing a small Gerald mission stealing the baking soda ;). Now that's how you get into a half a million home real quick. Do missions and sleep in cars for a few nights.

Who needs to change clothes now-a-days anyway, when you can live like my home slice Gerald.

Hero Alert!: Arrow Vs Flash

Images from WeGotThisCovered

Finally, a full cross over between two of DC small screen super heroes! The Flash and Arrow, whose TV series I have enjoyed so much. They go back and forth with words, they fight and at the end knowledge and passed over and there friendship grows.
Starting up as a team up of Flash and Arrow to catch a villain that makes his victims become enraged. Arrow aka Oliver Queen tries to train Barry aka the flash who jumps into a fight with  Roy. G. Bivolo aka the Rainbow Raider thinking that he has everything under control but wound up being enraged and the only person who can stop him is Arrow.
This is something I would play out in Injustice (which is free on PSN for this month) but I'm extremely happy to see a cross over and I can't wait for more. There will be another episode showing tonight 8 pm EST on WB11(CW) where things are going to heat up more between the two heroes.
Here is my question to you, who do you think would win Between Flash and Arrow?  Leave a comment below.

HYPE TRAIN: STARBOMB'S SECOND ALBUM IS UPON US!
