Review: Destiny

It looks like that time has finally rolled around the long awaited Destiny review is here. For the most part I have been avoiding writing this article for quite some time, even though I knew for quite some time how I felt about it. The reason being is Destiny (the game) is that pretty girl you always wanted to date, but once you got to know her you realize things are not how you imagined. That sums up my experience with Destiny.

Review: WWE 2K15

Being a big WWE fan I was excited to play WWE2k15 for the Playstation 4. The first thing I did was jump into singles one-on-one to see how the much has changed and how good of a job was the games visualization is. So far, I've noticed that 2k has worked really hard on the visuals for a lot of the male superstars but Divas could have been done better with likeness. As for wrestling moves the moves are spot on , its beautiful to hit someone with an RKO from outta no where. The actual fighting takes time getting used too; if u don't have a manual to learn how to do more complicated moves then it's going to be a lot harder to play. The My Career mode is great you start at the performance center and build your way up to NXT ,Superstars ,Main Event ,Smackdown and then Raw. I believe they could have made it a little more interesting by putting you in more story lines  as opposed to just beating down wrestlers till you get to the top. Especially cause it takes way to long to get there. Overall I am enjoying the game and I love the realism that 2K brought into the game. I give this game a 6.5 outta 10 and the reason why I give the game this score was because I feel that game still has its imperfections that could be fixed even though its small its still annoying.

Smash Bros Wii U: No Bullying Allowed

Nintendo has addressed one of the biggest issues in all fighting games ever......targeting.

Don't target cause targeting is bad and not at all a legitimate tactic.

This is the screen Reddit user Tetrafirez received.
For targeting..
In a multiplayer arcade fighter.......
wow.....
The fact that I even have to address this is wow. How kid friendly is too kid friendly..

First Impressions: Pokemon Omega Ruby

Hype.

Pokemon Omega Ruby, a Pokemon Ruby 3D remake is upon us, and in the first hours of gameplay I  have noticed a couple of Pros and Cons that I would like to share with y'all.

Always start with the pros :

  • Its a Pokemon game, two in two years.
  • I get to play this game with a battery that won't run dry after 30 days of continual play.
  • The game is gorgeous; the map doesn't really seem to have changed much but the building's all have personality and I love the fact that Mr. Briney's cottage looks just how I want it to in HD.

  • The new "sneaking up" on Pokemon mechanic is really new and different and adds variety to the shaking grass routine of the previous few Pokemon titles.
  • The new "DexNav" is swanking with its' Pokemon locator.
  • Its Pokemon.

On to the Cons..:
  • Thus far, it seems fairly copy and paste story line wise with only one noticeable anecdotal difference while exiting the Petalburg woods..

The rest..

The rest of my complaints are all character model related.
  • Why does Wally look so sickly?! He doesn't seem fit to the secondary rival role anymore..maybe that's what he was meant to be all along but who cares! I used to fear the Wally fight before the Elite Four but now I can't wait to see him so I can flick him in the nose and end his fight with what ever terminal disease he has.

  • The protagonist is very very small, he looks ten. Pokemon, when can we grow up!?
*note | Compared to the X and Y protagonists, Brandon and May look small compared to the space. As if the space is too big for the characters where the X and Y characters seemed to be built for the space allowed

  • The Pokemon Locator aforementioned only works on Pokemon you caught previously.
  • May is not cute anymore.
And so that basically completes my first impressions and sorry for getting all buzz feed on ya with a list but hey, lists are good in moderation and are really good for organizing thoughts!

Until next time,

Review: Smash Brothers 3DS

When first playing Smash Brothers for the 3DS I was extremely excited. After the 6 year gap of no smash brothers, smash brothers 3ds was completely worth the wait. First impressions of the game I honestly felt no change in it switching from Super Smash Brother Brawl, but as I played the game more I seen slight changes that made the game better and gave everyone a fair chance at winning.

Examples for changes they made each character capable of knocking off an opponent at any percentage. Yes most characters build percentage faster, but it is still more leveled field than Brawl ever will be. There is no longer any edge guarding in the game for the people who enjoy grabbing edges before someone else can. When a character is going to grab an edge the other character will be forced off for the oncoming character.

Let's talk characters, with some new additions and old and the ones who didn't quite make it to the next game. Adding new pokemon like Greninja and Charizard (without the pokemon trainer) was a win. They essentially picked two fan favorites from pokemon and gave them both freedom. With Greninja's powerful water shuriken that can knock a foe off the stage at full power and Charizard  with flare blitz that does some major damage to its opponent and minor damage to itself just like in the regular pokemon game. Another character I just have to talk about is my favorite Kirby. Super powerful in Brawl and still as powerful, but made even better and faster. Kirby's hammer now has a hold effect like King Dedede's hammer with all the same effects of holding the hammer. The longer you home it the stronger the hit is, but you take damage for holding it for that long.

This game is everything I can asked for and I cannot wait to play the Wii U version. Stay tuned for more on Smash Brothers. Rated 10/10 Fantastic job on the game Nintendo.

2014NYCC: Hands on-Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris

Are you ready for more tomb raider well technically this is but isn't a new tomb raider it's Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris and if you don't know it's a 4 player co-op dungeon crawler essential a sequel to Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light . Square enix was nice enough to let me check it out at New York comic con. From what I can tell Temple of Osiris takes the ideas from the Guardian of Light and super charges it with game play designed to make you work together,  if you have that second player but each level is fitted with a single player version for those of you like me who can't find a gaming co-pilot. The game takes place in ancient Egypt where Laura and another explorer get cursed and have to team up with the son and or wife of Osiris each player can pick any combination of the four selectable characters and can drop in and out with ease. Temple of Osiris takes full advantage of the next generation systems with destructible environments and a complex lighting engine. Temple of Osiris is packed with action and puzzles, that the tomb raider is known for. Coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox one and is an interesting take on the tomb raider franchise.
